Do I need to change my email client?
No. You continue to use your existing email client (e.g. Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes, etc.). RocketSeed only impacts the email after it is sent out, therefore it is seamless to the email sender.
Will I have to change my ISP to make use of RocketSeed?
No, RocketSeed is compatible with all ISPs. All that will change is that you will not send emails via your ISP anymore, but through the Rocketseed server.
I am using Google Apps. Will this be a problem?

Talk to me about security & data privacy?
We have careful and considered controls in place to make sure that all client data is kept separate and secure.
Rocketseed provides email services to its clients utilizing a multi-tenancy architected solution, hosted at an ISP, using a Tier1 datacenter.
The administration of this solution is done via a browser based front-end, accessed via https. All actions, both system and user, are recorded in the audit log, which only privileged users have access to.
A component of this architecture is a SMTP relay. This relay is set up to only allow accept emails from authenticated sources. We perform regular vulnerability scans on the Rocketseed service. A firewall is in place which permits only certain actions via certain ports, the rest of the server is locked down.
Once an authenticated email is received, the Rocketseed database is interrogated to determine what branding should be applied to the email according to the rules set up. Once the branding is applied, the details of the mail are logged (mail headers, not the mail body) and the mail is delivered to its intended recipient(s).
What about SPAM?
Although a RocketSeed enhanced email is, by definition, a solicited email and therefore clearly not SPAM, the reality is that all emails needs to pass through Spam Filters. To ensure that your email are classified as SPAM free, RocketSeed is subjected to rigorous tests on an on-going basis so that our clients can enjoy all the benefits of our product without the need to worry about the delivery of their emails.
Can I manage my own account(s) on RocketSeed?
Absolutely! The software allows Partners and Clients to:
- Access the web based interface and manage account effectively via dashboard.
- Upload, edit and create rules for template assignment.
- Extract marketing reports based on your specific requirements.
- Link to web analytics.
We supply full training on the system as well as 24 hour support and user manual. Audio-visual and text help files are available to all users.
Can I manage the way my banners are used?
Yes. Rocketseed’s main feature is its multifaceted banner management system. Every time you send an email to a recipient, your banner will appear when he or she opens their email. Banners are interactive and can click through to web pages, landing pages, downloads or any other linkable online resource.
Multiple banners can be utilized according to your required specifications. This includes multiple rotations, scheduling, assignment by sender- or recipient group or even by recipient domain and key word.
The options are just about limitless and really allows for a targeted marketing solution as opposed to mere branding.
Can I use RocketSeed do distribute my newsletters & promotions?
No, and that is a big NO! RocketSeed is an everyday email marketing solution and not a newsletter / promotional mailer solution. We have certain controls in place which ensures that distribution emails to multiple recipients are not sent from the RocketSeed platform. Everyday email does not cater for the functionality that is needed to adhere to the Consumer Protection Act, such as easy to use opt-out mechanisms options and querying of the national “do not contact” registry.
If your emailing messages fit the description of a “promotion” then you should be using a product that does fulfil these requirements. Rocketmailer is such a product.
How does RocketSeed compare to traditional HTML signatures?
Traditional HTML signatures residing within your email client may cause the following problems:
- The images are large (weighted) and will add considerably to the overall size of the email.
- Different email clients render HTML in different ways and as such the consistency of the appearance might be affected in various ways, resulting in your emails appearing unprofessional.
Rocketseed tests the HTML and Plain Text Mark up on various different email clients in order to ensure that the mail being delivered has the impact that was intended when creating the template.
There is no intelligent reporting & alert mechanism within HTML signatures whereas RocketSeed can give you this information at the press of a button.
Central management control for all staff emails whereas HTML signatures is a manual process.
Can I send an email without branding?
Yes, by using standard exclusion codes which you insert into your subject line the RocketSeed software is able to exclude:
- Only the banner, with the disclaimer and signature remaining
- The banner and signature, with the disclaimer remaining
- The banner, signature and disclaimer
The exclusion code will be removed from the subject line and the recipient of the email will not be aware that it has been used.
